The Begining of Fear

If I haven't said before my music library consists mostly of sound track albums and the background music from various animes. I'm not to sure why but for some reason I love to listen the the atmospheric music often and having no lyrics helps me to stay focused when I work. Most of the time the music is generic in the sense that it's upbeat sounding but another frequent kind is the dirge. The sad feel helps to sooth me but in an odd way.

However spooky is a very different kind of thing. Very rare is there any music that is of such nature and even more so is it good enough for me to want to listen to it more than once. Regardless the track entitled "Kyoufu no Hajimari" from "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" is something that's distasteful but I love anyway. Most people who have herd it tell me that it's horrid and I agree but I just can't hate it. I suppose that it's the simple strings and piano that draw me to it despite the disharmony that it develops and looses frequently. It's initial feeling is smooth and calm which most likely is what has attached me to it. Finally even after it's odd, more soundtrack feel it returns to the same feeling of calm uneasiness. That feeling that you have before the monster jumps out which is worse than seeing your attacker.

Really like I said it's odd and a horrid track to just listen to but for some really odd reason I love it.

Vital Pulse

Well I'll be honest most of the music I own is the type I "acquired" and when I buy something It's because of how worth it the stuff is. That's the truth regardless of what I buy and even more so if it's only binary code. Anyhow one of the things that I have shelled out for is the album called Life by the artist Andy Hunter.

I Should state that even though I like techno music I'm not a fond of people that make albums out of it. The reason why is because they just have a habit of making the songs to long and redundant. The very idea of listening to something repetitive for hours on end while I surf the web, work on a project, or hit up a party is just horrid. For that sole reason I typically only stick to the high quality remixes from video games that come out of the OC Remix. However the music from Andy Hunter is different. It's long and a bit redundant but it just sound so good that it shakes that feeling of "when will it end". Beside that it's level of repetition is much less because there's more tune and less base/synth carrying the songs along. I look forward to more music by Andy all the time; till then and even after, what he's done so far is worth listening too.

you can listen to bits of Life at his website.

Black Bullets

Wow it's been a while eh? Anyway getting back on track my subject today is Black Lagoon. Right off I'll say that the show was kick ass. Really it was very well done even though the story could have used some work and was just ridiculous at some points.
Anyhow the animation was good and even though this opinion may change I think it may be one of the shows on my list to buy on DVD.

In the end after watching it I wish the show was still going but putting that aside one other thing about it made it good. There's an anime called Bakuretsu Tenshi (aka Burst Angel) which is a show that has great art and looks like it'll be absolutely sweet. The problem? Well there was to much fan service, no story, and they didn't even follow the main character the show started with. Additionally it was ridiculous in it's premise of villains and the things they fought over for a good chunk of the time.
Cutting myself off for the problems with Bakuretsu Tenshi and it's flaws, my point is as follows. Black lagoon is very similar in the premiss of what it's about but it's considerably better done even with it's own holes. Bottom line Black Lagoon and Bakuretsu Tenshi are virtually the same show and made out of the same parts, but Black Lagoon was put together correctly. Because of this I Liked the show and more so am considering buying it.

Looking in from a different direction I will mention that Black Lagoon is not a show for kids, religious types (those relating to the bible at the least), or anyone who can't stand a SLEW of bad language and blood. The show is very violent and though it could be much more graphic it's still up there. I recommend this show to anyone who loves guns and explosions. However it's also good for those who want more than JUST that cause there's a story in relation to the piracy, death, betrayal, and violence that takes place. None of the subjects are nice but there's enough story to keep Black Lagoon from being just a giant action show.

This is one of my favourite intros I've seen ever so far.

Hopefully I'll post sooner next time.
